Picking up an old project

I just finished the Fish Quilt and I'm not quite ready to start another big project.  So, I thought it best to pick up and finish an old one.  I had started to crochet a rug made from t-shirt strips.  I collected the t-shirts from a friend and when done this will become her Christmas present.  Does this count as re-gifting?  I like to crochet at night if just watching a TV show or movie.   I had put this partially completed rug away because it was getting quite wonky (fave sewing word), and frankly I was not happy with it.  Well, I pulled it out of the craft closet and decided to rip it out.  Not always an easy decision knowing I put a few hours into this already.  But, it certainly is not doing anyone any good just sitting there "as is."  After ripping out the partially crocheted t-shirt rug, I am now braiding the same strips of cloth to sew into an old fashioned braided rug.  Braiding is fun.  Makes me feel like a young girl braiding hair.  I like it.  I'm braiding a little, then sewing a little.  I'm using a wide zigzag stitch on the sewing machine and going verrryyy slowly.  It's thick and my machine only seems happy doing this on the slowest speed.  It's better than hand stitching this whole thing so I'll do the slow-and-steady-wins-the-race mode.  I'll post pics when done.  Coming up: recycling magazines into a paper craft.

First Blog

Hello blog world, I am here.  To what extent, we shall see.  Crafting for as long as I can remember and coming from a long line of crafty women, I have been fortunate to have access to limitless information and have enjoyed blogs by my many fellow crafters.  All this inspiration out there, I thought, "why not me?"  Do I have photos and stories to share of everything?  Umm, no.  But, I do have some, and am always happy to share what I've done or am working on.    And what better place to keep and share, but my own new blog.  So away we go...
